Poetic Response: The Fall by Albert Camus

Tell me again about your degradation. Two hovels seen as hotels. One looking the emptier. Twin sheets repressed and singular. Molar to feed the cavity. Capsuled to find the bitter flow. Sounds and speaking sharper. Longing for the slap and belt of fury. Longing for the spit without the cloud and silver on the road. Stepping, stepping. Reaching for repulsion, for revulsion without closing. Nowhere, nowhere. Screaming out of turn. No breathing. Tick and tick and tick and tick. How great is the burning sun? How close are the closing fists? Not near. Not far.

It has come to my attention that my debut poetry collection Deconstruction of a Symptom from Alien Buddha Press is now HALF PRICE on Amazon. This means it is selling for only $5.05!

I’m not sure how long this price will last so if you’re at all interested in the book now is the best time to buy a copy.

You can get it here.

Poetic Response: Eclat by Caroline Bergvall

Enter through the bright lit corridor. Wander out, now into the void. Enticed by speech, brought about and left below. Seen spectacle as nothing. Nothing as void as spectacle. Held by guiding hand. Void and helped by guiding hand. Movement is the spectacle. Movement begets movement. Seen in bright and one one two. Seen as cutting across, collapsing. Lined perfectly in geographic geometry. Pleasure dome replete in splendid emptiness. Exacting in its contour and its colour. Never in the round, always bent as elbow bends, as line and line upon line and line. Then gone. Specialising in void.

Appearance in ‘My (Small Press) Writing Day’ + Podcast Mention

I have recently had an article published in the ‘My (small press) Writing Day’ blog series. The articles, based on a series in The Guardian, asks writers to outline the happenings of their average writing day. Many thanks to Rob McLennan for the opportunity.

You can find my article here.

I also received a brief mention in the latest Songs of Selah podcast. The guest Red Focks (publisher of Alien Buddha Press) mentions my poetry chapbook ‘Deconstruction of a Symptom’ due out in the new year from Alien Buddha Press. Thank you Red.
